The formulation is strenghtened with liposomal (encapsulated) ceramides. Encapsulation makes sure ceramides reach the right places in your stratum corneum (outermost layer of your skin). There, they synergize with natural components of your skin (phospholipds, cholesterol, stearic acid) to repair and strengthen your skin barrier. This helps reduce skin sensitivity and improves skin defenses against external stressors. This makes PEPTOLOGY ideal for damaged or sensitive skin!

Key Ingredients

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 (Argireline™)

Probably the world’s most famous peptide, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 is known for its “botox-like effect”. This neurotransmiter peptide aims to inhibit the movement of small muscles that are activated when you make facial expressions (such as smiling or frowning). The effects are reduced wrinkle depth and slowed new wrinkle formation.

PEPTOLOGY does everything it can to achieve results, but the effects of peptides are very skin-dependent. Because their mechanism of action relies on promoting or inhibiting existant skin functions, some users will see better results than others. And while we would love to claim a botox-like effect, keep in mind that a peptide in a topical (on skin) product usually can’t achieve a result comparable to injected botox toxin.

Palmitoyl Pentaptide-4 (Matrixyl™)

Palmitoyl Pentaptide-4 is a messenger peptide that interacts with skin cells, activating regeneration properties of your skin. This produces an anti-wrinkle effect, improving the appearance of fine lines (reducing the depth and thickness) and overall firmness of skin.

Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12

The main goal of this peptide is to increase skin elasticity and firmness as well as hydration levels. It is a synthetic signal peptide that boosts your skin’s natural moisturizing process. It also sends a “signal” to your skin to increase the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

Liposomal (encapsulated) ceramides

Ceramides are tiny lipid molecules the form an important part of your skin barrier (they act like glue or mortar that holds other parts (mainly corneocytes) of your barrier together). Ceramides are an essential component of your barrier – lack of ceramides in your stratum corneum leads to water evaporation, cracked skin, redness, sensitivity and rough skin texture.

Our liposomal ceramides are designed to penetrate your skin (liposomal encapsulation helps them achieve this!) and get to work where they’re most needed. They repair your skin barrier, reduce skin sensitivity, hydrate your skin and improve its self-protection ability. This way, they reduce inflammaging (skin inflammation due to skin aging), prevent transepidermal water loss, improve skin texture and elasticity.

Bakuchiol

Bakuchiol is a botanical compound (phytochemical), sourced from leaves and seeds of Psoralea corylifolia (Babchi). Has retinol-like effects, without any of the drawbacks. Its quickly gaining ground as an effective and non-irritating antiaging ingredient! Restores glowing, soft skin and has strong antixodative properties for longterm skin health.

Skin Type

Can be used by all skin types, but due to its occlusive, moisture-locking effect, PEPTOLOGY is best for dry, sensitive or mixed skin.

If your skin is very oily, it might not be light enough for you. However, PEPTOLOGY is not a heavy, oily cream and is not comedogenic.

How to Use

PEPTOLOGY generally replaces your daily moisturizer, so it goes on your skin towards the end of your routine (before UV protection). It spreads easily, so 1 press of the pump is usually enough for the entire face.
